Meeting Minutes: 

Attendees: Heather Reider, Melissa Adams, Katie Trodick, Elizabeth Westmoreland, Monica Smith, Leyla Badillo, Brittany Ferrans, Anna Wright, Wynter Van Thorre, Kate Walker, and Christine Hendricks

Welcome and Introduction

  • Attendance sign in sheet passed around. 

    • Attendees introduce themselves and grades of children attending Tavelli.

  • Vote 

  • Last Month’s Minutes - passed around copies of last month's minutes.

    • Minutes from the February meeting voted on and approved unanimously

  • Events/Projects

    • Walk-a-thon - March 27

      • Fundraising Update + Corporate Sponsorships

        • $3,700 in Corporate Sponsorship

        • $6000 as of March 3 in fundraising via Plegestar

      • Prize Pickup

        • Spreadsheet emailed for help on pickup of prizes

      • Lane for those who don’t want to be sprayed 

        • Separate lane on the outside for students who don't want to be sprayed

        • Heather purchased spray chalk to make lane

        • Brad Deal has a sprayer to lay down on grass

      • Color

        • Purchased powder colors, funnels, spray paint, etc. stored in empty classroom

        • Switch color every 5 minutes so every student gets every color

      • Clipboards

        • Need about 4; front office has enough to let us use

      • T-shirt Design Winner

        • Winner announced March 7 via phone call and morning announcement 

        • All sponsorship logos submitted will be black and white 

      • Need to buy cuties closer to event

      • Noisemakers

        • Volunteers can bring noisemakers and stand close to bubble station

      • Using water jug and cups for kids who forget bottles

        • School has a cart for it to be stored on

        • Katie to bring jugs and cups 

      • Doing one call out a week for reminders 

        • Elizabeth to record

      • Marketing

        • PTO Buttons

          • Leyla working on buttons to be worn at walkathon and other events

        • Tiger Trek Stickers

          • Leyla created, will send home with kids the day before the event

        • Reminder checklist

          • Leyla to create list to send home in Thursday Folder next week

            • Reminder for appropriate shoes, clothes that can get messy and water bottles plus Pledgestar

        • Sign for the door

          • Consider sandwich board for the future

    • Read Across America - March 2-6

      • Bingo went home, return by April 4th to get a small prize and be entered in a drawing for book vending machine 

        • Some left over prizes from previous bingo, may need to supplement 

    • Book Fair - April 28-May 2

      • Kate and Monica to do a meeting with Scholastic to start setup

      • BOGO acquired due to sales in fall book fair

      • Have $4400 in scholastic dollars - will use for teacher gift cards and refilling the vending machine 

      • Will send out email to help find kids who may need sponsorship for a book

    • Dining Fundraiser Updates

      • Qdoba - $1296.53 in purchases, $324.15 raised for PTO

        • Brittany to reach out because there has been feedback about slow service/pickups

        • Seems as if there has been more in purchases than is being recorded 

      • Urban Air - Friday, May 2

      • Penrose - requested date is not available so will postpone

      • Look to see if Culvers and Illegal Pete’s are options

    • Yearbook

      • Cover Contest, design due by March 28 with voting the following week

        • Returning all t-shirt designs in case anyone wants to reuse for yearbook contest

      • PTO sponsor page 

        • Leyla to create design for generous corporate sponsors and two basic ad pages for $500 yearbook donors 

    • Summer Blast Off - Wednesday 5/28, 4:30-6 pm

      • Use sound system to play music

        • Little Kids Rock to perform

      • Begin contacting food trucks

        • Desserts only - Families can bring picnic if they would like

          • Heather to contact Kona about two trucks if not look at adding another dessert based truck

          • Update: Two Kona trucks confirmed 

  • Board Recruiting for 25/26

    • Voting next month

  • Teacher Appreciation and Retirements

    • Email to Corrine for teacher appreciation

      • Budget of $4000-$5000

    • Two retirements - Jane and Mrs. G - consider personalized gifts
